The Confucius Institute In Sofia Have Held Their Work Meeting For the Autumn Semester of 2025
On September 16th, 2025, the Confucius Institute in Sofia have held their work meeting for the autumn semester of 2025 in a hybrid online and offline form. The meeting has been attended by more than twenty participants, including the Bulgarian Director of CIS Mrs Aksiniya Koleva, the Chinese Director of CIS Prof.Chen Ying, all teachers, volunteers, and administrative staff.
At the meeting, the Bulgarian director Mrs Aksinya Koleva has welcomed the newly joined teachers and volunteers, setting forth clear requirements and earnest expectations regarding their job responsibilities and their disciplinary standards. The Chinese director Prof.Chen Ying has introduced the Confucius Institute's regulations, the teachers workload assessment procedures, and the annual evaluation mechanisms, while outlining the key activities plan for the second half of 2025. She has emphasized that all teachers should actively explore how to integrate the modern technologies within the traditional teaching methods and how to effectively utilize the digital teaching resources to continuously enhance the quality and the effectiveness of their teaching.
The Confucius Institute in Sofia is established in 2006 as the first Confucius Institute in Bulgaria and in the entire Balkan Peninsula. Having been recognized for its outstanding achievements, CIS has been honored with the titles of an“Exemplary Confucius Institute” and a“Model Confucius Institute.” After nearly two decades of development, the Confucius Institute in Sofia has become an important bridge for educational and cultural exchange and cooperation between China and Bulgaria.
